"The Open Door: What do you see? Obstacles or Opportunities?"

Closed doors. Who likes them? They are difficult to open. Especially if they are locked and you don't have the key! Sometimes they are closed accidentally. Sometimes they are closed on purpose. A closed door can be an opportunity for you to grow.

Is there a door closed in your life that you need God to open today? Or, is there a door that is open in your life today that you need God to close? God specializes in opening and closing doors.

There is song that says,

“I’ve got a river of life flowing out of me,

Makes the lame to walk and the blind to see,

Opens prison doors lets the captives free,

I’ve got a river of life flowing out of me.”

God can open a door for you today. He can also close a door of any habit, sin, or relationship that is separating you from Him today.

Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 16:9, “For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.” Just like for Paul, God can and will open a door of opportunities for you. There are always obstacles or adversaries when God opens a door. You can either focus on the opportunities or the obstacles, on the open door or the adversaries. What are you focusing on? What are you seeing?

If we resolve by the Grace of God to see our test as our testimony, our mess are our message, our tribulation as our transformation, then we can be “more than conquerors through Him you loved us” (Romans 8:37).

May we focus on Jesus and the open door before us instead of our adversaries. May we focus on the opportunity instead of the obstacles. Remember, when God closes a door, it is always because He is about to open a better and brighter door. If he has recently closed a door in your life, it is because He is about to open a better door. So let us be radical today. Let us step out into the light of God’s promises and walk through the open door with Jesus by our side.
